Tesla Powerwall 3
Tesla, Inc. ("Tesla") is the world's most recognised home battery brand, with more than one million Powerwall units installed worldwide as of September 2025. Tesla Energy was launched in 2015 and has grown into a leader in the research and development of residential and grid scale energy storage, with a broad product portfolio offering home battery systems, commercial storage and utility scale Megapack solutions, as well as solar generation, EV charging infrastructure and virtual power plant programs. With more than a decade in the energy storage space, the global Powerwall fleet has now delivered over 17.3TWh of energy to homes.
Tesla manufactures Powerwall at Gigafactory Nevada, one of the highest volume battery facilities in the world, producing a Powerwall 3 approximately every 25 seconds at full rate. Across its energy division Tesla deployed 31.4GWh of storage in 2024 and 46.7GWh in 2025, and every Powerwall is built, tested and supported as a single integrated system rather than assembled from third party parts. Powerwall 3 was released in Australia in August 2024 and is the first Powerwall to include a solar inverter built directly into the unit.
